Augusto Boal, the Brazilian theater director and playwright known for the interactive genre called the “Theater of the Oppressed,” died Saturday. He was 78. Boal died of respiratory failure following a long battle with leukemia in Rio.We salute him for what he has done for the oppressed community and of course for theatre. We pay our tribute to the man of courage.

He read out the World Theater Day Message 2009. The article is linked here.
